corporate social responsibility by supporting initiatives that promote environmental

empowerment, particularly through partnerships with community-based tourism initiatives and
vocational programs.
He is also the proprietor of Buffalo Safaris Lodge, a renowned eco-tourism destination located in
Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park, where conservation, cultural heritage, and responsible
tourism are core values. Mr. Kimbowa holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Tourism
and Hospitality Management from Makerere University. In the early years of his career, he
served as a Lecturer of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Makerere University, mentoring
students, supervising research and shaping the future of Uganda’s tourism and hospitality
workforce.

At CATRE, Mr. Kimbowa brings visionary leadership, private sector innovation, and a deep
commitment to inclusive and sustainable development. His efforts to leverage business as a
platform for social transformation directly support CATRE’s mission to deliver trauma-
informed, community-rooted responses to human trafficking, and to build systems that uphold
dignity, justice, gender equity, and opportunity for youth and marginalized populations in
Uganda and across Africa.

We are a  team  of  dedicated  professionals committed to ending human trafficking in Uganda through prevention, capacity building, rigorous evidence-based research, survivor-led community empowerment, and strategic policy advocacy.
