Dr. Fred Nalugoda is an epidemiologist and public health expert with over 25 years of experience in HIV prevention, care, and research. He holds a PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Makerere University and a Master of Health Science from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
He currently serves as a Board Member and Senior Research Scientist at the Rakai Health Sciences Program (RHSP) and is a founding member of the Africa Medical and Behavioral Sciences Organization (AMBSO). Over the course of his career, he has led and supported major research initiatives in HIV, adolescent health, gender-based violence, and community health systems.
Dr. Nalugoda has also played a key role in research mentorship, grant development, and scientific capacity building in Uganda and beyond. At CATRE, he brings strong expertise in epidemiology, research leadership, and public health systems.
