Mrs. Atwine is an experienced Clinical Psychologist and Mental Health Professional with over
15 years of experience in providing Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services to diverse
populations. She is the Founder and Chief Executive Director of the International Centre for
Mental Health and Family Care (ICFC), a Christian-based center of excellence for mental health
and psychosocial support services in Uganda and East Africa. Through ICFC, she has pioneered
accessible, holistic psychotherapy, life coaching, and workplace wellness services for families,
schools, corporations, NGOs, and government agencies.
With specialized expertise in psychosocial programming for women, children, adolescents, and
displaced populations, Mrs. Atwine also serves as a parenting and relationship coach,
motivational speaker, and family therapist. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and
Social Administration, a Master’s degree in Demography and Population Studies from Makerere
University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology, and an Honorary PhD in
Humanities from Open Christian University. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Mental Health
and Counselling Psychology at Nkumba University in Uganda.
At CATRE, Mrs. Atwine brings deep clinical insight, program leadership, and a strong
commitment to trauma-informed healing. Her expertise enhances CATRE’s trauma-informed
interventions by fostering the development of survivor-centered care models, building capacity
for frontline responders, and advocating for the integration of mental health in national policies.
Her leadership advances CATRE’s mission to create trauma-informed ecosystems that promote
healing, dignity, and long-term recovery for survivors of human trafficking in Uganda and the
surrounding region.
